Glasses make you see better but do not cure vision disorders   no comments

Whatever anybody preaching on how to improve eyesight naturally might tell you, the truth is this:  glasses are an extraordinary invention. Indeed, glasses were invented so that they help the people with poor eyesight in performing activities like the rest of the members of society. Millions of people, whom otherwise would have never seen things clearly, can have 20 20 vision with the help of lenses. So the invention of lenses helped people see. But no matter how you see it another truth is this: Glasses are not part of our body. They can be considered “unnatural” inventions. Useful, but unnatural. Comfortable, but dangerous, or at least tricky from certain points of view. The easy way out always is.

Sure, this is one thing I recommend whenever people ask me for advice: first you must see a doctor. But I find it a bit peculiar that most of the doctors seem to have always only one option: glasses. I mean, I do no longer see them as eye doctors but as glasses salesmen. Quick and easy. The buyer sees fine, so the doctor did his job. False!

The buyer sees fine because he has a pair of glass lenses on his nose, not because the doctor treated his problem. Glasses are not solving the problem at the source. . Because what they do is help you see while having problems with your eyes, they do not necessarily help you solve those problems. In order to do just that, people need to find a new direction, one that not always leads to the spectacles shop.

After researching for several years, talking to dozens of specialists worldwide, I wrote the Eye Knows Book, in which I argued that wearing glasses is very probable to contribute to worsening vision. Why do I think it is so? Something I know from my own experience, and which actually points to the moment when I became convinced that eye exercises work: I woke up one morning and couldn’t find my glasses.

However, I was able to see clearly (and not because I fell asleep with the glasses on my nose). I figured it out why this happened: my eyes were relaxed. They were able to take the effort of seeing because they rested over night. It was then when I started looking for other ways to train the eyes and help them relax during the day. You can read more about that in the Eye knows Book, along with information on how to improve eyesight.

We evolve, and most probably the eyes of our followers will be more resistant to strain factors than our own eyes. It is genetics. And it is why we must not keep our eyes weak by letting glasses (or other helpers) do all the work. The eye knows how to keep itself in shape, just like our body knows when to ask for sweets or fruit or water when we lack energy.
