No Matter the Name, A Twin & A Single Bed Are The Same   no comments

It is hard to know what size bed you are looking for when there are so many different names for the same size beds out there. No matter what you want to call it – a twin or a single bed, the overall dimensions are approximately 39” wide by 75″ long and it will fit a person who is up to 39”.

The twin bed is named for a pair of single beds that are usually placed in the same room, while the single bed is usually one by itself. No matter what you want to call it what is important is the quality and that the single bed you choose will provide you the comfort you desire.

These single beds are especially suitable for children and for guest rooms. Also they are excellent if you have limited space in a bedroom. Another plus for having a small single bed is that the bedding is cheaper to buy, and they are easier to make than other larger beds.

Single beds are often too short for most adults, however, the single bed is also available in a longer size, which is 5” longer than the typical single size. Choosing to buy an extra long single bed may be a great choice for taller teens and college students living a dorm lifestyle. The downside to buying this extra longer bed, is that bedding is sometimes hard to find.

Single beds come in many different types and styles; beds with a wood finish are a popular style. Bunk beds are also popular; these are two beds where one bed is on the top of the other. These single beds are perfect for housing two children in the same room. Single captain beds are often a popular choice as well; they are also made of wood. Captain beds have drawers under the bed for holding possessions and sometimes-even book shelves attached to the headboard. Both of these types of bed are great space savers and helpful way to keep a child’s room organized.

Many little girls love to feel like a princess, and often will want a fancy decorated canopy bed to sleep on. This style is often found in a poster bed, they can come in a variety of colors and really make a little girl feel happy.

A Bad Mattress Can Make Your Child Grumpy

Even little backs complain about bad mattresses. No matter if you are choosing a wooden bed or a car bed for you child, you will want to consider the single bed mattress itself. When looking for a bed the things to mull over is the price, the quality and the construction. Generally less expensive mattresses do not last as long as higher quality more expensive ones. Price can vary, but a good rule of thumb is to buy the best single bed for your price range. Don’t scrimp on your child’s mattress. A bad mattress can cause sleeping problems, which can lead to other childhood problems. The bottom line, get the best mattress you can for your money.

If you are considering a single bed for a single child, you may want to consider moving up to the next size, which would be a full size bed. This would leave room for growth, and or an overnight pal. Another option for over night guests is the trundle bed, which are very popular for kids who have a lot of friends spending the night.
